Noticed many themes require one of the following apps to be installed on the X: PandaHome or AHome or OpenHome.
Any recommendations? Or would you recommend staying away from them?

Guess this one flamed out.. Read that PandaHome seems to be the most recommended theme manager. Does anyone use it? Cry

I searched the net and found...

  • i like sense UI then panda, just try them out, panda is nice becuase its free.
.
  • PandaHome 100% - You can use aHome and OpenHome themes with PandaHome Free or Paid. You can also create your own themes, I created one Check this out . You can also change icons and icon names with PH, all you need to do is download the Icon Pack. You can make your phone look just like the iPhone if you like, not an imitation.
.
  • I think for OpenHome you can apply aHome theme too. xD So I would say OpenHome is better!
.
  • Openhome can use Ahome themes, so thats a plus.
.
  • You guys should try out Panda Home.  It has all the functions of open home and ahome.  Even allows open/ahome themes, icon packs.  I found  it alot faster than open home.
.
  • i like pandahome, cause its free and you can use themes from the other home apps.

So does anyone here use one of these or maybe Launcher Pro, or dx top? It seems so confusing with all they can do. I'm not sure if there's a simple answer for this question. Please help, thanks.

Hi Droid X 7 - I'm using Launcher Pro...I'm sure I'm not using it to it's fullest potential since I'm still learning how to use my Droid X, but the main thing I noticed is that I seem to have a better battery life then before I installed Launcher Pro. It's still not awesome, but then again, the idea of having a smartphone is to use it - a lot! Smiley Hope that helps....Andrea

Thanks Andrea, I don't know about roms or if you need one to get all the cool home screens & icons. I want a cool home screen with cool icons that works good with the X (no drained battery, lag, or any of that other bad stuff.) Ya know, I wasn't my cake & east it too.

Launcher Pro and Desktop Visualizer (make your own custom icons) together makes my phone great.

Try a program called LiveHome. It's like ADW & LauncherPro with some interesting effects built into it. Free download from the Market.

I use launcher pro with custom graphics... adw does the same thing but launcher pro is more customizable... alot of people diss launcher pro but honestly it's the best... And if your running a rom... Your battery life should be fine. I get a solid 14 hours in a service area with midrange use.
